Arlington Heights is a densely populated, highly diverse neighborhood in Central Los Angeles. Arlington Heights is flanked by Koreatown to the north, Mid-City and Mid-Wilshire to the west, Jefferson Park to the south and Harvard Heights to the east.
Historically, Arlington Heights was in the city’s western limit until the late 1890s. Dubbed a streetcar suburb, well-to-do Angelenos started to move here at the turn of the century when the rails pushed into this neighborhood. Arlington Heights has a remarkable concentration of intact American Foursquare, Craftsman and Spanish Colonial Revival homes.
Located centrally in Los Angeles, Arlington Heights is a melting pot of cultural influences. This part of the city is very transit friendly due to nearby bus lines. Travel by car is also easy. Situated just north of Interstate 10, this community provides easy access to Culver City and the beach to the west, and downtown LA going the other direction. Heading to the bars along La Brea Avenue is a favorite past time for locals, as is heading to Wilshire Boulevard which is full of restaurants and popular bars. There are also a handful of dance clubs along Pico Boulevard if you’re looking for late night entertainment. For those looking for cultural pursuits, a stretch of Washington Boulevard, anchored by the Underground Museum between 3rd and 6th avenues, is becoming a hot spot for art galleries and boutiques.
